TERRA collaborated with the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) and their athletic department staff to fulfill their dreams of transitioning from a natural lawn outdoor soccer facility to a new state-of-the-art synthetic turf system. TERRA assisted IIT in applying for grant funds and worked closely with the general contractor to develop a budget for the project. Sustainable concepts were incorporated into the site development and were a high priority for both IIT and TERRA. The project promotes infiltration through existing sandy soils by means of a bio infiltration trench system beneath the artificial turf.
