TERRA collaborated with the City of Peoria and Bradley University on the award-winning Main and University Intersection Improvements project. Challenged with an aggressive six-month design-build schedule and the intent of minimizing cost, the project complete redesign and reconstruction project included pedestrian improvements, vehicular traffic calming measures and a “road diet” that reduced six lanes to three. The project received the American Public Works Association’s (APWA) Project of the Year, the American Society of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE) Central Illinois Project of the Year and the American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois’ (ACEC-IL) Engineering Excellence Award.
